Sometime back in 2010 our good friend Chrissie Kingston (wardrobe guru for the Stones and Aerosmith just to name a few) got Mikey and I backstage at the T&M. Their road manager wouldn’t allow us to jump into the mile long pre-show meet and greet with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. As Chrissie was arguing our case, Steven repeatedly craned his neck in an attempt to place eyes on us. We made our way to the wardrobe station in the catacombs and waited for Chrissie to return with our seat tickets for the show. As Mickey and I debated over what level of dickhead the road manager was, I began to hear rushing feet and the opening/closing of doors. We looked in the direction of the commotion and around the corner appeared Steven Tyler. He asked which one of us was Louis Prima, and quickly began a conversation that I’ve had with many musicians/actors and the likes, augmented by my telling him that the first song I ever sang on stage was Walk This Way. Mikey was not the best at snapping pictures, but this is blurry proof of the love affair. Our chat was cut short by the road manager angrily yelling at Steven Tyler that he was late for the stage call and bla bla bla…Thank you Steven Tyler and Aerosmith for the many years of incredible music, amazing talent; and your incredible kindness in seeking out a fan to say hello.
